Our Pastor Rev. W. Williams Rev. W. Williams was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After high school, he had several opportunities to accept scholarships to colleges in the South. But Rev. Williams felt lead by the Lord to attend college in Los Angeles California. Pastor W. Williams attended Los Angeles City College, and after serving in the U.S. Army and the National Guard, he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Education from Cal State University at Los Angeles. In 1968 was nominated for the Athletic Hall of Fame at Cal State University. He became an outstanding educator and administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District. While as administrator he received the Outstanding Leadership Award for his role in the community and school district. The Lord called Pastor W. Williams to ministry in 1984. Shortly thereafter, he was called as pastor of First Baptist Church of South Los Angeles; the church has continued to grow under his leadership. Pastor W. Williams has served as President of COBA, Chairman of 28th Street YMCA, Junior Grand Vice Polemarca of KAPPA Alpha PSI. Pastor W. Williams has been married to his wife Philura for over 47 years and they have 2 daughters. |
